I was supposed to go see Falon this week in San Francisco but I am too much of a chicken to drive there by myself. I thought I might go see Deb because I have a couple of things I could pick up from her house, but she is at "The Happiest Place on Earth" right now. She must be having a lot of fun because it's Disneylands 50th anniversary right now.
I ended up staying at home all weekend and spent most of my time trying to get Linux up and running on my system. First I tried Debian and that wasn't loading my windows manager and it wasn't finding my mouse. So then I tired Arch and that was... interesting. Not that bad really I just had a problem getting my computer to boot after that. When trying to load grub the screen would output "Grub" over and over and over again. It was interesting to go through a different Linux intall though. I think I actually like how this was setup better, if only it had worked :)
So, then I went back to Debian (just to see if i had done something wrong the first time). I guess I did because this time it just auto installed my desktop environment for me. Yay. So now I have Debian Linux up and running on my computer I am a happy girl.
Some things that I have left to work on are: Installing Warcraft so I can play!! This will require a lot of Drew's help because he has already done it and I am totally lost. I would like to create a start up script but since I don't know perl this might be a tad tricky. After that it's just customizing my system to be pretty.
Hope everyone had a good weekend.
