I love gmail, it's a nerds best friend. The one thing (and I do mean the only thing) that has bothered me about gmail is that it doesn't support group mailing lists. With the list I have accruing for the blog it's down right annoying. I know a lot of people that use gmail so I wanted to share this helpful tip I found online. Hope it helps!

How To Create A Group Mailing List
1. Create a new Contact
2. In the “Name” field, enter the name of your Group (eg “My Friends”)
3. In the “E-mail” field, enter your list of email addresses in the following format:

friend1@gmail.com>,

three rules that you must follow:
1. You must enter “>,< " (without the quotes) between all addresses
2. Be sure NOT to include a leading “<" or trainling ">“. This is intentional, because during auto-complete, Gmail adds these characters to the beginning and end of the full string that is in the e-mail field.
3. Also, there should only be spaces in the string following the comma after every address.
I started reading "Real Life" from the beginning this week. I have been reading it off and on for a couple of years now but never really got into it. Since I have started hanging around nerds a lot more over the last 3 years I understand the humor better. Yay Nerds!!!
Here are my two favorite online comics:
Mac Hall
Questionable Content
I started ready Mac Hall in high school, Paul introduced me to it. Number 133 happens to be a favorite of mine. Questionable Content Drew introduced to me about a year ago. QC has much more of a fluid story line to it. Both cartoonists are excellent artist which makes me appreciate these two over many of the other online comics.

Harry Potter: The Half-Blood Prince

Do not read this if you have not read the book

The last line in this article about the food shortage crises in Niger made me feel kind of guilty. I think the frustrating thing about their situation is that a good deal of the people in the world just don't know what's going on. BCC Link

What??
Could someone tell me how all this ties in? I mean really!

"The Russia government has approved a $17m plan to make people more patriotic." This includes...
"'correct reproductive behaviour' - speak for patriotic sex education."BBC Link

I completely and totally forgot to mention that SG-1 (Stargate) and Battlestar Galactica Started again on Friday. I am so glad that I have a web savvy boyfriend so he can download these shows for us :) They were great! BSG had the usual greatness, beyond cool and totally intense; posing lots of moral questions and dilemmas. SG-1 was pretty nifty because they have Ben Bowder and Claudia Black from Farscape playing a couple of the main characters. Richard Dean Anderson wanted a reduced roll in SG-1 so they are replacing him with Ben. I don't know what Claudia's roll will become, right now she seems to be an off-worlder antagonist. Anyway, if any of you have Sci-Fi I really suggest you watch at least Battlestar Galactica on Friday nights. James (if your reading this), I know you liked Farscape so maybe you should check out SG-1 too.
I was supposed to go see Falon this week in San Francisco but I am too much of a chicken to drive there by myself. I thought I might go see Deb because I have a couple of things I could pick up from her house, but she is at "The Happiest Place on Earth" right now. She must be having a lot of fun because it's Disneylands 50th anniversary right now.
I ended up staying at home all weekend and spent most of my time trying to get Linux up and running on my system. First I tried Debian and that wasn't loading my windows manager and it wasn't finding my mouse. So then I tired Arch and that was... interesting. Not that bad really I just had a problem getting my computer to boot after that. When trying to load grub the screen would output "Grub" over and over and over again. It was interesting to go through a different Linux intall though. I think I actually like how this was setup better, if only it had worked :)
So, then I went back to Debian (just to see if i had done something wrong the first time). I guess I did because this time it just auto installed my desktop environment for me. Yay. So now I have Debian Linux up and running on my computer I am a happy girl.
Some things that I have left to work on are: Installing Warcraft so I can play!! This will require a lot of Drew's help because he has already done it and I am totally lost. I would like to create a start up script but since I don't know perl this might be a tad tricky. After that it's just customizing my system to be pretty.
Hope everyone had a good weekend.
