The weekend after my birthday I went up to GV to see the family. I was treated to dinner, breakfast and lunch. Whoopee! The work week after was pretty normal but it has taken some getting used to not being able to see Drew as much, he has headed back to school in SC. We did spend quite a bit of time together in the middle of practically nowhere this weekend. Yep, you got it, the back packing trip.
Randy committed to going again at the last minute. Edward, Drew and myself where the other three in the group; pretty small this year really. The trip started off close to the same as last year. Hiked into cloudy, cold conditions on Saturday when we hiked all the way into the flintstones. Sunday started out cold, then turned to snow and then to rain; it was a very cold night. It was actually fun to be put face to face against nature and still come out with a good attitude. Monday was a bit nicer but we were all hoping for weather over 60 degrees and partly cloudy, but it made for some nice running around the camp area. Hiked back in on Tuesday and I was the one falling behind, I don't think that I have ever had so many foot problems as on that day. I had blisters and my arches hurt, but we made it up and out in one day. That was a trip full of first for me. You can see pictures at www.mightymouse.org/backpacking0904/. It's not my normal set up, but Drew was playing around with some pearl script and this is what he came up with.
After the back packing trip I got right back into work the next day, which seemed pretty boring after all we had just gone through. But good news is the Gilmore Girls season started on Tuesday! So now my days are filled with GG, OTH, Smallville, Stargate, and Teen Titans when I happen to catch it. Oh, the joys of modern live.

My 22 birthday was on Thursday. Mostly we just hung around and played Mario Sunshine, but we also had dinner and cake. Joe helped me set up my Dynamic DNS that night. He and Liz also gave me there extra 19" flat screen monitor. Who else but total geeks would have extra of those? Anyway, I am having fun using that, being able to view whole web pages on one screen and all, w00t! My boss took me out for lunch at a Japanese restaurant where I had Sushi for the first time. Not all that it's hyped up to be in my opinion, but it was good and I don't often eat that well so that made it pretty great. Shawna and Chris gave me some magic cards to keep me busy for awhile. Also, I received 10 messages wishing me a happy birthday, 4 of which were singing messages. I have saved them all because they are so fun to listen too, thank you everybody.
Back packing is next weekend. Doesn't look like Rando is going, so it's just us kids. I am a little nervous getting there because I will be the only person who has ever been to the Flinstones. To my credit I have been there 8 years in a row now. Even if we don't find the path we normally take, I am so used to the mountains in that area I doubt there is anyway I could actually get lost... I hope....

One more thing. www.mightymouse.org is back up agian thanks to Joe.
